New Directions at 4th Wave

4th Wave has been involved in the multimedia business since 1989 and yet this has matured and dramatically shifted in emphasis with the Internet. The company has also been involved in the 3D chip and PC business since it began in 1995. In the span of only 4 years this has become a mature industry. 4th Wave also prides itself in looking beyond the current trends to long range and strategic markets. In 1998 it became evident that there was a major change taking place in computing and especially the PC industry. With that we launched an effort to understand these forces and estimate the directions of the emerging market opportunities. In January 1999 we launched an aggressive study of the information appliance market. This began as a multiclient study and involved the leading companies in the industry.
